Our Brisbane Distillery Tour visits four of the following venues.
We may mix it up a bit, but below is a rough itinerary of the day.

Lunch is generally served at the second venue we visit.

Known for their award-winning beers, the team behind Common Ground Brewing have been spirited away! Their range of gins are top-notch, and sometimes our day starts here so guests can learn whether they prefer soda or tonic with their gin. We chat botanicals, garnishes and mixers to start the day.

You might know them for their fun can designs and delicious beers, but Brisbane Brewing Co know their way around a still. Showcasing their love of Queensland – and Brisbane in particular – their Reservoir gin and vodka pay homage to their location. Paired with local soda or tonic and perhaps a burger to line the stomach, BBCo is one of our potential lunch venues on today’s tour.

Celebrating Brisbane’s iconic bridges in their own unique way, Eleven Bridges Distillery is an excellent place to try something different, including a rhubarb gin! Can you located all the bridges that the gins are named for? Each of their three handmade gins are paired with their specific garnish and a bottle of Long Rays Australian Tonic or soda.

Tucked away in the bustling neighbourhood of Bowen Hills, Nosferatu Distillery is an excellent addition to the distilling scene here in Brisbane. Originating in Melbourne but seeking the sun (who wouldn’t?) the crew opened their doors in 2022 and we’re excited to showcase their delicious wares.

It’s a pretty short drive out to Sumner Park where we get behind the scenes of White Lies Brewing & Distilling. Though it’s tempting to sample all the incredible beers on offer, we’re here to get the lowdown on gin distillation. Sampling four unique gins, each paired with their proper garnish, you’ll feel like an expert in no time.

A stalwart for any Gold Coast gin lover, Granddad Jack’s opened their doors in a bustling neighborhood precinct of Albion and have been serving locals the good stuff over the past few years. Originating on the Gold Coast, GDJ’s has something for every gin lover – and something special just for those who are visiting the Brisbane tasting room!

There’s a great story behind this family-owned-and-run small batch distillery, so join us and learn all about Granddad Jack and his legacy. Some tours will start here with a guided tour and tasting of (almost) all the spirits they offer.

Situated in the historic Rivermakers precinct in Morningside, Bavay Distillery is awash with history. Shining copper stills and wooden barrels enhance the ambience as you sip a paddle of gins or rums (your choice).

Tucked away in Albion, Milton Rum Distillery is available by appointment only on Fridays. A visit here cannot be guaranteed, but since we are avid rum fans at Hop On we try and get here whenever possible!

Where a location is indicated, we will pick up you outside the venue so please keep an eye out for our van – you can’t miss it!

Pick Ups:

  • The Gresham (308 Queen Street, Brisbane) is an historic pub in central Brisbane. From Central Station, exit toward Ann Street. Past the ANZAC Memorial and through Post Office Square, next to the NAB, you’ll find The Gresham tucked away. Alternatively, you can exit toward Edward Street, head down the hill and turn left onto Queen Street. Walk about 1/2 block and The Gresham will be next to the NAB on your left. Please note The Gresham does not open until 4pm on Saturdays and is closed on Sundays; we will still pick up here and there are plenty of places around Post Office Square to get a coffee and/or breakfast.
  • Prince Consort Hotel (230 Wickham St, Fortitude Valley) is a very short walk from the Fortitude Valley Station – come out, hang a left and turn right and there you are!

We are flexible with our drop-off locations within the city based on guests’ needs and requests.

Included in the price: transportation in our private, air-conditioned van, guided distillery tour with explanation of the distilling process, all samples at the venues we visit, lunch with a drink, education and history, snacks, and witty commentary (well, we think it is).

Please note that we are visiting working distilleries and it’s suggested you wear closed-toe shoes so you don’t miss out on any of the fun. Also, since they don’t always run on a set schedule, we will try and catch the distillers in action but that can’t always be guaranteed; keep an open mind on the day because no matter what or who we see, the samples are always epic. Sometimes the itineraries will change at a whim; this may be because of traffic, a last-minute decision from the distillery or any number of things, so we ask for your patience and flexibility.

If there is a brewery or distillery you’re keen to check out, please include the request in the “Special Requirements” section when making your booking and we will try our best to make it happen.
