Project Description

Brisbane Brewery Tour Southern Sessions

Southern Sessions Brewery Tour

Spend your day south of the Brisbane River, tasting some of the newest and freshest beers to hit the Brisbane brewing scene!

We visit some outstanding, award-winning craft breweries and get you behind the scenes to meet the staff, the brewers, and other beer lovers. Highly regarded as producing some of the best independent beer in Queensland, you’ll be surprised with how much excellent beer the river city is producing, with more openings every year!

Are you looking to venture further afield and drink at harder to reach independent Queensland breweries? Another option for you might be our Western Explorer tour, which offers guests the opportunity to enjoy lunch in a 100+-year-old building while sipping crafty brews. Alternatively, you can stick closer to the city limits (a perfect way to get your bearings for visitors) and jump on a Best of Brisbane tour.

^Please contact us directly to book for a Friday as minimum operating requirements are different.

After pick up, we will start the day at Brisbane Brewing Co for a great tasting paddle and explanation of what goes into your beer. Sample some of their award-winning core range or maybe see what seasonal brews are on tap. We’ll cover the beer essentials and provide complete explanation of the brewing process.

Hungry much? Our lunch stop at Revel Brewing Co in Bulimba has hot, fresh pizzas with tasty, cold beers to match. We can relax and enjoy some great food, sip on super fresh beers, maybe pat some pooches at this dog-friendly venue, then meander through the brewery before heading further south.

We make our way to Yeerongpilly to visit the quickly-growing Slipstream. With so many great brews on offer, we recommend you pair up with a buddy to taste as many as possible! A bustling place for locals, Slipstream’s head brewer, Ian Watson, is one of the best in the business – and we’re sure you’ll agree! Pick up a few 4-packs or fill a growler or squealer of their fine product so you can savour it later tonight!

Still hungry after that amazing pizza? Slipstream usually has a food truck on site to keep your belly full (food not included at this stop).

Our final stop of the day is Ballistic Beer Co, where their VIP treatment gets guests onto the brewery floor – truly in the thick of things! – and treated to four of their finest! The award-winning beers here are top notch (and clearly we aren’t the only ones who think so), so we will save room in the esky for any takeaways you grab. There’s a food truck here in case you’re feeling peckish (food not included at this stop) so feel free to grab something to munch on.

After our day has finished, we’re happy to drop you back in the city at a bar or restaurant of your choosing, or to where you need to be (within reason). Wanna kick back and enjoy the tunes at Ballistic? Feel free – but we warn you, it’s a hefty taxi ride back to the city!

The stories, the artwork, the beer – there’s nothing but the best of the best here at Helios Brewing Co. Set a little off the beaten path and maybe a bit hard to find on your own, we’re happy to show you around! With all beer named for Greek gods, goddesses and monsters, here’s a good chance to brush up on your ancient mythology! Powered by the sun, Helios proves just how strong the sun can be.

After our day has finished, we’re happy to drop you back in the city at a bar or restaurant of your choosing, or to where you need to be (within reason). Wanna kick back and enjoy the tunes at Ballistic? Feel free – but we warn you, it’s a hefty taxi ride back to the city!

Where a location is indicated, we will pick up you outside the venue so please keep an eye out for our van – you can’t miss it!

Pick Ups:

  • The Gresham (308 Queen Street, Brisbane) is an historic pub in central Brisbane. From Central Station, exit toward Ann Street. Past the ANZAC Memorial and through Post Office Square, next to the NAB bank, you’ll find The Gresham tucked away. Alternatively you can exit toward Edward Street, head down the hill and turn left onto Queen Street. Walk about 1/2 block and The Gresham will be next to the NAB on your left. Please note The Gresham does not open until 4pm on Saturdays and is closed on Sundays; we will still pick up here and there are plenty of places around Post Office Square to get a coffee and/or breakfast.
  • Prince Consort Hotel (230 Wickham St, Fortitude Valley) is a very short walk from the Fortitude Valley Station – come out, hang a left and turn right and there you are! Perfect for a morning cuppa before the tour.

We are flexible with our drop-off locations within the city based on guests’ needs and requests.

Included in the price: transportation in our private, air-conditioned van, guided brewery tour with explanation of the brewing process, all beer samples at the breweries we visit, lunch, beer education and history, snacks, and witty commentary (well, we think it is).

Please note: itinerary subject to change based on traffic, closures, new openings, events or spur-of-the-moment decisions, however we will ensure you receive everything listed above.

Before booking please understand that you may be travelling with other people and the 1.5m social distancing guidelines may not be possible in the short van trips between venues. If you do not feel comfortable with this please contact us to discuss other options.
